Regardless of your age, there’s no denying how iconic Tamagotchi toys are. The 1990s toy centers around taking care of a digital pet, and, with recent collaborations, the game has gotten even better!
For this Nano series toy, Tamagotchi has partnered with Star Wars to bring you this retro technological marvel! You are tasked with training your R2-D2 to master 19 various skills and unlock 7 mini-games.
In order to keep R2-D2 happy, you must take care of him by keeping him charged and clean – which is achieved by playing two mini-games (Firefighting and Dejarik “Holochess”). You must make sure you keep your R2-D2 happy – because if you neglect him for too long, the Jawas may take him away!

Despite its small size, this little virtual pet game system is filled with fun! R2-D2 grows and changes based on how you take care of him. Not too much care is needed and taking care of R2 isn’t annoying. The chirps, beeps, and whistles that R2 makes are cute but don’t sound quite like the R2-D2 from the movies.
The buttons are a little hard to press and the screen can be hard to see at times, but once you get the hang of the buttons and view the screen under a decent amount of light, it isn’t too bad. The screen does NOT have its own backlight, meaning the screen itself does not light up, but as long as the screen is under enough light, the play experience can be enjoyable.
This system cannot be turned off without removing the batteries, but you can mute it at any time by holding down the first and third buttons (buttons A and C) at the same time, which is quite nice to prevent random unwanted beeping from R2. The little game will sometimes surprise you with unexpected character appearances, which is fun. Great for kids, teens, and even adults! Can be enjoyed by men and women, boys and girls who love Star Wars, and virtual pets.
