I’ve bought a number of Anker products over the years. I’ve never been disappointed with the quality, and it has always operated exactly as I would expect. The same is true for this device. Anker, in my mind, is synonymous with quality.
I use a MacBook Air, which only has 2 USB-C ports and sometimes I need more space. I made sure to buy one that had a USB-C (with charge-through capability), USB-A, HDMI, SD Card, and an aux port. I generally trust Anker, so I went with this model. This hub has a really solid, professional feel and even comes with a sleeve to prevent it from being scratched if you travel with it. I have used it with probably 3 accessories plugged in at once and it was flawless. The only change I might want if I could create my own hub is a little longer cord from the hub to the USB-C plug because I work with my Mac on a stand and the hub dangles awkwardly, but that doesn’t detract from my overall satisfaction.
I looked at several Anker and Belkin hubs and this one checked all the boxes at a reasonable price point. The monitor connects easily and even with my 60W USB-C charger, the laptop continues to charge (though a little bit more slowly than usual given the 15W power use from the hub). I wish it had a USB-C data port instead of the SD card reader, but not a dealbreaker. Highly recommended!
