This camera works great. It has a clear 1080p picture with night vision, 2-way audio, a spotlight, and baked-in timestamps. The battery life is impressive and it’s easy to just set up and forget without having to worry about it. The camera uses the “Vico Home” app to control. The app is pretty easy to use once it’s set up. Some features are locked behind a paywall though, however, the camera is still usable without it.
It comes with basic motion detection, but you need to pay additional to unlock zoning and object recognition. Without the zoning, the camera can be tricked by moving branches and decor in the wind, so keep this in mind when deciding a location to put the camera. If you don’t want the hassle of removing the camera to charge it every few weeks, there are super long charging cables available on Amazon so you can set it up to always have power. The instructions say that a constant power connection will not damage the battery.
I am trying to use this to help determine where mice are getting into my basement from. So far the camera was easy to set up and I have not had any connection issues. In the first month of use the battery life has remained strong. I am using an old SD card I had from an old phone and I had no issues formatting it or using it with this camera. So far it has worked great and I don’t have anything negative to say about it.
