I bought this for my 6-year-old son as a Christmas gift. He’s never seen Stranger Things, so no real value to him as a collectible, but that’s not why I got it for him. I got it because it’s actually a really nice, simple-to-use flashlight with a classic design, durable aluminum shell and a really long (80+ hour) burn time. The lumen output is bright enough to be very usable for most tasks, but not so bright that I have to worry about him blinding himself or others.
If I were using it myself on a daily basis, I’d probably want a little more adjustability in the output (different power settings plus a focusable lens) but a simple, powerful, easy to use on and off style torch is probably best for young ones. He really likes it for exploring in the dark and the run time is easily enough for a long weekend of camping. It’s also not so small that he can set it down and easily lose it. Overall a great value even if you decide to take it out of the original packaging.
I bought this for fun using a gift card I was awarded through work. Sure, I bought it because it looks like the Ever-Ready flashlights my Grandfather had around his house back in the 80s-90s. What I got was an LED light with great throw, good visibility and color temperature, long battery life, and durable construction. It also just plain looks good.
I bought this for my husband for Christmas, not expecting it to not be anything more than just giggles and laughs, but it’s honestly a great flashlight! High quality, heavy, works well, 80’s retro which is a hoot, and the Stranger Things nostalgia really makes it so cool! Great gift and would highly recommend purchasing for a Stranger Things fan!
